About Us
Nottingham Sports Club of the Year 2011
If you like to swim, cycle or run you’ll love triathlon!
Whatever your child’s ability is, whether they are just beginning or are looking to really push themselves in triathlon, we have training sessions that are tailored to their needs from Foundation to Performance level for ages 7 through to 16.
Our three training squads, Foundation, Development and Performance cater for complete beginners through to children who are showing promise in the sport. Our Foundation squad is entry level however you can trial for the Development or Performance squad if your child is showing talent in swimming, biking or running. The best thing to do as a start is contact us and then come along for a trial at the club and meet the coaches who can discuss the options in greater detail.
Absolute Triathlon run a fantastic Junior Triathlon Club at Southglade Leisure Centre
every Sunday during term time 3.00 pm - 5.00 pm.

I would like my child to come for a taster session / trial what do I need to do?
The
first thing to do is contact us and have a chat to arrange a suitable day to come
along to the club. The purpose of the trial session is just to have a look at your
child's general ability so we can place them in a group that is suited to their needs.
It isn’t scary and your child will have the opportunity to join in with the session
and see if they like it. Following the trial we will discuss with you the options
available and you will be asked to pay the joining fee, any session fees remaining
for that month and you will need to set up a standing order for the required monthly
amount depending on what squad they are in.
What does my child need to bring for the
Trial?
You will need clothes to run, bike and swim in. Bring a bike and a helmet if you
have one, but don’t worry we have helmets you can borrow. During the winter months
if the weather is too bad we will run the session from the sports hall. Please check.
How
much do the sessions cost?
The Foundation squad costs £13 per month, the Development
Squad is £35 per month and the Performance Squad is £42 per month. There us also
an additional annual membership fee of £10 which every child is required to pay.
What is Triathlon?
Triathlon is a fun sport where you swim, bike and run without stopping
in between! It's also one of the friendliest sports around. It gives your child
a great all round fitness level and improves their confidence, we believe that every
child is capable of doing triathlon and you don’t need any expensive, specialist
equipment. As Triathlon races are generally against the clock rather then each other
there is never that feeling of being last over the finish line and often you don’t
know the results until after the race.
What equipment does my child need to do a triathlon?
To start with all you will need
is a working bike and helmet, swim gear, goggles and running shoes. As you progress
and enjoy the sport you may want to include things like a race number belt and elastic
laces. Check out this check list which details all the things you need to take to
a triathlon.
Since May I say how much Adam & Jack are enjoying Junior tri Club so many thanks to all
