British Triathlon 2012 East Midlands Series
Help Absolute Triathlon to be crowned as ‘Regional Club Champions 2012’ !
Individual Series
The British Triathlon East Midlands Series will be contested by all athletes who have completed and returned the registration form and signed declarations. The Series winners will be decided by the athletes who have gained the greatest number of points from four events (three of which must be triathlons) in their relevant age/gender category. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the Series for the top three male and female Tri-Start, Tri-Star 1, Tri-Star 2, Tri-Star 3 and Youth athletes - thirty individual trophies will therefore be awarded at the East Midlands Region Awards Evening later in the year. To enter, individuals do not have to be paid up members of British Triathlon but if you are there is a reduction of a couple of pounds for each race entered so if you are planning on doing a number of races it may be worth being members. Race Dates
Inter-Club Championship
Those individuals who have declared their membership of an East Midlands registered club will automatically be eligible to have their individual points score contribute towards their club score. The top five individual club member scores at an event, regardless of age group or gender, will count towards the Inter-Club Championship score.
Inter-Regional Championships (IRC) Selection Criteria
Each year the East Midlands Region sends a team of fourteen athletes to the IRCs (two per gender for tri-star 2 and 3 and three per gender for youths). These athletes MUST be current members of Triathlon England (for more information please speak to Judith Turner) The final team will be selected primarily from their performances in the East Midlands Series together with input from the coaches of the East Midlands Academy and any other information that the Committee considers that it ought to properly take into account.
