British Triathlon Federation (BTF) Level 1 Coach │ ASA Level 2 Swim Instructor │
Level 1 Water Polo Coach │ Represented GB at Junior Level for Water Polo │ Kate has
swam all her life and helping people improve is her passion. Kate has coached juniors
to National Level in Water Polo and now is heavily involved in the Junior Club at
Absolute Tri. Kate started competing in triathlon in 2009.
British Triathlon Federation (BTF) Level 1 Coach │ Owner of family run cycle business Langdale Lightweights (est. 35 years) │ A highly experienced cyclist Mick is a skilled track rider, time trialist and club racing cyclist and has ridden with some of the best cyclists such as Sean Wallis and Mark Barry, Mick has himself been at a high standard having held the 333 mtr track record at Leicester as well as competing in numerous races.
British Triathlon Federation (BTF) Level 1 Coach │ Martin has been competing in triathlon since 2003 completing sprint up to half Ironman distances and finished his first ‘Ironman’ distance Triathlon ‘Outlaw’ in 2010. He was formally an active member of NYP Tri up in north Yorkshire helping with the club’s Ripon Black Sheep triathlon.
British Triathlon Federation (BTF) Level 1 Coach │ ASA Swim Instructor │ Badminton Coach │ Cayci had 9 years experience in martial arts before taking up triathlon in 2010. As well has her coaching qualifications she also completed the Community Sports Leadership Scheme ran by Nottingham City Council. Cayci will be completing her first long distance triathlon ‘Outlaw’ in 2012, you can read about her progress here.
Introducing the team
Absolute Triathlon Club have an outstanding team of Coaches, including swim and bike specialists, led by Award Winning Level 3 Coach, Steve Lloyd.
All of our swim sessions, and most of our other sessions, are coached and our team work together to plan progression for each month and by season, easily catering for beginners’s as well as those looking to qualify for Age Group places. We are always looking for new coaches so if you are interested please get in touch.
Triathlete Julie has extensive experience across a range of sports and has the following skills and experience: Level One Athletics Coach | First Class BA Honours in Education Studies and Sport | Coaching junior athletics since April 2009 | Competed in triathlon in September 2009 – completed Vitruvian in 2011 | Safeguarding and Protecting Children | Coaching Disabled People in Sport. Julie has also won two awards at Bishop Grosseteste University College in July 2011 one being: The Lincolnshire Sports Partnership Award for Contribution to Sport: Joint Winner
Currently studying towards BTF Level 2 Coaching award | Karl has a Sports Science degree, an ASA Swim Teacher Award and the Certificate in Training Practice. He has worked as a Learning Consultant in a Corporate Bank for 8 years where he has experience of Coaching, Mentoring and Delivering Training. Karl took up Triathlon in 2010 after 16 years of playing as a cricket professional. In that short time he has competed in 15 Triathlons from Sprint to Olympic distance and his aim is to 'avoid going long at all costs!'
